Dr. Chris Carmichael with his wife, Dr. Lauren Carmichael, and their two children Avery and Hudson.
Dr. Chris Carmichael was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and graduated Cum Laude from Auburn University in 2003. He then attended Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2009. Following veterinary school, he completed a rotating internship in emergency medicine, internal medicine, and surgery at Purdue University’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital. After completing his internship, he moved to Fort Worth and worked as an overnight emergency veterinarian until establishing Highland Pointe Animal Hospital in March of 2016. Dr. Carmichael has a special interest in surgery, wound care, and emergency medicine. When not at the hospital, he loves anything to do with the outdoors, restoring his 1966 Mustang, cooking (and eating, of course), biking, and relaxing with his wife Dr. Lauren Carmichael, their daughter Avery, their son Hudson, and their kitty Jackson.
Dr. Lauren Carmichael is the daughter of a Naval commander. She was born in Rota, Spain and from there has lived in Florida, Hawaii, Virginia, California, and Kansas! She considers Kansas City, Kansas “home”, since she lived there the longest. Dr. Lauren Carmichael started her undergraduate career at Baylor University and later transferred to Kansas State University where she completed her undergraduate degree in just three years and was then accepted into the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. Following veterinary school, she completed a rotating internship in emergency medicine, internal medicine, and surgery at Purdue University’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital. After completing her internship, she moved to Fort Worth and worked as an emergency veterinarian until establishing Highland Pointe Animal Hospital with her husband Dr. Chris Carmichael in March of 2016. Dr. Lauren Carmichael has a special interest in cardiology, cats, and has experience working with exotics. When not at the hospital, she enjoys running and spending time with her husband Dr. Chris Carmichael, their daughter Avery, their son Hudson, and their kitty Jackson.
Dr. Stone was born in Biloxi, Mississippi and moved somewhere new every two to three years because her mother was an Air Force flight medic. Naturally, she often refers to herself as a military brat. Her family ultimately settled in Texas during her college years, and she graduated from Texas Woman’s University in 2016. Dr. Stone has been part of the Highland Pointe Animal Hospital family since 2016 when she worked with us as a client services representative and later veterinary assistant prior to being accepted into Kansas State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated with her doctorate in May of 2022. Dr. Stone has often been called a crazy cat lady, but she also loves all dogs. During her down time, she loves to golf, go to the gym, and spend time with her many pets. She has four cats named Tango, Cash, Princess, and Kitbull and two dogs named Monroe and Lily. Dr. Stone can’t wait to see you and your fur-kids!
Dr. Sienna Drizin grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada, and has always had a love for animals. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of California – Davis, where she also played Division I Soccer.
Dr. Drizin went on to attend veterinary school at Colorado State University, where she was awarded grants to study stress-related diseases in pets. That work sparked her passion for fear-free care and helping animals be safe and comfortable during visits.
After earning her DVM, Dr. Drizin completed a small animal rotating internship at the University of Wisconsin, which provided specialty training in emergency and critical care. Since then, she’s gained experience in both emergency medicine and general practice, bringing compassion, curiosity, and a thoughtful approach to every patient she treats.
When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll find her running trails, kicking around a soccer ball, or relaxing with her two beloved cats, Bean and Sprout—who definitely run the household.
Logan is proud to have been with Highland Pointe since its beginning. He has loved animals of all kinds his whole life – mammals, reptiles, birds, fish and yes, even insects! He graduated from UNT with a Biology degree in 2013 and has worked in animal medicine since 2014. He loves getting to know every animal that comes to the clinic and especially enjoys winning over the shy ones!
Logan was born and raised in Fort Worth and currently lives in Denton with his wonderful wife Zakiya and their two dogs – Cosmo and Penny, and cats – Zena and Yuki. When he isn’t telling a story about his fur babies he is probably talking about food or telling a really corny joke!
Outside of providing excellent customer service for our clients at HPAH, Amanda is also a graduate from DeVry University in March of 2019 with her degree in Professional Medical Coding. She has an incredible amount of experience as she has been in the veterinary industry for 20 years! Amanda is also self-employed and loves pet sitting outside of work and has been doing so for 17 years! It’s safe to say she has a passion for animals and a dedication to saving lives. She enjoys traveling as much as she can, singing, dancing, reading, camping, hiking, water sports, skating, bowling, and going to the movies. Currently, she has a cat named Sapphire and a chinchilla named Petey.
Michelle has always been an animal lover. She adores her Rat Terrier Phoebe George and Irish Wolfshound Mandy. Outside of work Michelle enjoys true crime movies, listening to podcasts, and relaxing at home. She currently lives out in the country and enjoys spending time with her parents, two daughters, one son, and grandbabies.
I have lived most of my life in the Seattle area. As a result, I enjoy coffee! I have always known that working with animals was what I was supposed to do with my life. I graduated from Pierce College with an Associates in Veterinary Technology in 2005 and received my Veterinary Technician License in Washington State. I currently share my home with five dogs and a bearded dragon. Oh, and my husband and two kids! 😉
I have always loved animals from a young age and knew that I would always work with them. When I went to college I was introduced to veterinary technicians, and that is what I knew I wanted to do. I love the feeling of helping animals and am very excited to help all of my new family members at Highland Pointe Animal Hospital!
Kristin has always had a love for animals. She has always been one to bring home an animal in need of help. She started as a kennel assistant when she was eighteen years old and learned as much as she could on-site. In 2004, she moved from New York to Florida and became a veterinary assistant. In late April of 2021, she moved to Texas with her daughter Renee, three dogs Blue, Bella, and Seymore, and turtle named Kevin. In her spare time she enjoys drawing and painting.
At a young age, I have had a passion for animal medicine. I have three cats and one dog. For my hobbies, I love sports such as soccer and TKD (tae kwon do) which I am a world champion in & youth olympic team member. I am currently undergoing my VT school and certification.
I have always loved animals, even bugs! Working with animals since 2020 at a boarding facility is where I gained my passion for working with them and providing great care. I’m originally from FL and moved to TX in 2019. My family has always had cats and dogs, and even other animals like guinea pigs! Currently, I have 2 cats, a jumping spider, 2 beetles, and 5 snails, and the list will inevitably grow.
The love I have for helping and caring for animals is endless. I have started my journey as a kennel tech then made my way as a vet tech. My journey will hopefully continue with becoming a veterinarian. Along side that I enjoy having a lot of coffee & sweets, but most importantly enjoy nature whether that be hiking or being in a pool of water. M&M is my doggie in the picture and also love being right by my side through all the adventures.
Olivia embarked on her journey in veterinary medicine at the age of 17 and has since cared for a diverse range of animals, from reptiles and rodents to dogs and cats. Growing up in Missouri, she was deeply influenced by conservation and wildlife, leading her to undertake many impromptu rehabilitation projects in her parents’ backyard. Olivia is particularly passionate about supporting families through their pets’ senior years and guiding them in making quality-of-life decisions. She plans to resume her studies toward a biology degree with a focus on conservation in 2025. At home, Olivia’s three cats—Yui, Kevin, and Naga—keep her very busy. When she’s not spending time with them, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, reading, crocheting, and teaching herself new musical instruments.
